About The Founder
Zainab Taiwo, DNP, APRN-FPA, PMHNP-BC

My name is Zainab Taiwo, and I am a Doctor of Nursing Practice and board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with Full Practice Authority in Illinois. I earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Rush University College of Nursing in Chicago, Illinois, where my training further strengthened my commitment to delivering thoughtful, evidence-based mental health care.

I founded Isimi Health & Wellness with a clear vision—to create a mental health practice where care is thoughtful, culturally responsive, and deeply personalized.

My clinical training and professional experience have been grounded in delivering evidence-based psychiatric care while honoring the individuality of each patient. I have worked across intensive outpatient, telehealth, and community mental health settings, supporting individuals navigating depression, anxiety, trauma-related conditions, ADHD, and other complex mental health concerns.

These experiences have shaped my approach to care. I believe effective treatment extends beyond medication—it requires attentive listening, meaningful collaboration, and a holistic understanding of each person’s life.

At Isimi Health & Wellness, my goal is to provide care that is collaborative, compassionate, and empowering. I believe patients should feel informed and actively involved in their treatment decisions. Each treatment plan is carefully tailored using the best available clinical evidence while considering lifestyle, personal goals, and overall well-being.

Nothing is more meaningful to me than witnessing the progress patients make as they regain stability, confidence, and a renewed sense of self. My role is not only to provide clinical expertise, but also to serve as a partner in your mental health journey—helping you build the tools and resilience needed to thrive.

Through Isimi Health & Wellness, I hope to contribute to changing the culture surrounding mental health, making high-quality psychiatric care more accessible while fostering open, supportive conversations about emotional well-being.
